We are excited to inform you that SLAC IT's Web Services team is in the process of upgrading our Drupal 9 sites to Drupal 10. As Drupal 9 has reached its end of life, this upgrade ensures that our sites will remain on an actively supported platform, receiving the latest security patches and module updates.

Key Benefits of the Drupal 10 Upgrade:

  • Enhanced security features
  • Improved performance
  • Updated backend architecture

Please note, this upgrade is focused on ensuring continued support and security. No new features or layout changes will be introduced. Your Drupal 10 site will look and function exactly as your Drupal 9 site does today. This update should be seamless for your site’s visitors and content editors.

While our web team has conducted initial testing, we encourage our site owners to test their sites in the Drupal 10 environment to ensure everything works as expected. Though we do not anticipate any issues, your review will help confirm that the upgrade is successful.

Testing and Rollout Schedule:

  • Drupal 10 Testing by Site Owners: August 23, 2024 - August 30, 2024
  • Drupal 10 Rollout to Live Sites: September 3, 2024 - September 6, 2024

How to Test: We recommend comparing your Drupal 9 and Drupal 10 sites side by side. Open two browser windows—one with the live Drupal 9 site and another with the test Drupal 10 site—to easily review any differences and ensure functionality remains intact.

If you experience issues with your D10 test site, please submit a ServiceNow ticket and the web team will respond as soon as possible.  If the web team does not hear from you, we will continue to rollout Drupal 10 to your live site the first week of September.
